Director of Procurement
Rehovot, Israel
Biolojic Design, Ltd., a leading-edge company that designs multi-specific human antibodies, is seeking a Procurement Director to own and elevate our end-to-end sourcing function. You’ll partner with suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to implement strategic procurement processes that drive cost savings, ensure supply-chain resilience, and support our R&D and Operational goals.
Position Overview:
We’re seeking a strategic, detail-driven procurement leader with a proven track record of building sourcing functions from the ground up. You will design and execute our end-to-end procure-to-pay process, negotiate and manage key supplier relationships across both direct (R&D, manufacturing, operations) and indirect (IT, facilities, services) spend categories, securing all mission-critical goods and services on time and within budget. This hands-on role offers full ownership today-and the mandate to hire and lead a team as we scale. Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional communication skills are a must.
Responsibilities:
- Define, Build & Implement Processes: Architect and deploy scalable procure-to-pay workflows from requirements gathering through PO issuance, receipt, and invoice reconciliation across direct and indirect spend.
- Strategic Sourcing & Cost Savings: Develop category-specific sourcing strategies; negotiate agreements; onboard and qualify alternative vendors to drive redundancy and deliver measurable savings.
- Technology & Systems Solutions: Evaluate, design, and implement procurement platforms, reporting dashboards, and integrations (ERP/P2P/BI) to automate workflows and enable real-time spend visibility.
- Cross-Functional Requirements Translation: Partner with R&D, IT, Finance and operations to translate project needs into clear, actionable sourcing specifications and SLAs.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Own supplier selection, performance tracking, risk mitigation, and contract lifecycle management for all critical goods and services.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to quality/regulatory standards and internal policies; produce KPIs, spend analyses, and executive-level dashboards to drive informed decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (minimum): In Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ Years in Pharma/Biotech Procurement: Demonstrated success building and running sourcing functions within R&D-driven organizations.
- Deep R&D & Supply-Chain Expertise: In-depth understanding of Biotech/Pharma R&D workflows, lab materials and consumables and industry-specific logistics.
- Seasoned Negotiator: Track record negotiating million-dollar contracts and managing high-volume spend, as well as handling ad-hoc, low-value purchases with equal finesse.
- Hands-On & Agile: Willingness to “roll up your sleeves” on transactional issues-from urgent POs to invoice disputes-and thrive in a flat, fast-paced startup environment.
- End-to-End Ownership: Full lifecycle responsibility for supplier sourcing, contracting, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Risk mindset: Proven ability to map supply chains, identify risks, and develop mitigations/contingency plans.
- Tech Implementer: Experience selecting and deploying procurement platforms, ERP/P2P integrations, and reporting tools to drive visibility and automation.
- Strong leadership and ownership– Demonstrates a proactive, results-driven ownership mentality, with the adaptability and eagerness to take on additional responsibilities as inventory and logistics management-and more as the role evolves
- Proficient in Hebrew and English – verbal and written. Other languages an advantage
- Familiarity with NetSuite – an advantage
